METS Ignited is proudly sponsoring the Collaboration Award at this year's Queensland Mining Awards for outstanding collective effort between Queensland METS companies and miners.
The winners will be recognised for supplying quality and innovative outcomes to industry, and achieving safer and more efficient results.
METS Ignited CEO Ric Gros said the Awards are an opportunity for METS companies to profile their businesses in front of key industry players.
There are eight awards:
- cost saving initiative award
- time saving initiative award
- innovation award
- safety innovation award
- best product launch award
- collaboration award
- community/staff engagement or equal employment opportunity award
- Queensland mining contractor of the year award
Contractors/Suppliers: Any size company or business contracted to complete work by an exploration and/or production mining or energy resources company.
Producers: Any size minerals or energy resources operation within Queensland, operational 2017/18.
Projects/Initiatives must have been undertaken in Queensland during the period April 2016 to December 2017. Projects that are partially completed or ongoing may still be eligible. The submission must be able to demonstrate significant, qualified milestone achievements within this timeframe, and will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. Contracting companies can be headquartered in Queensland, interstate or internationally.
Nominations close on Friday, 27 April 2018. The winners will be announced at the gala dinner in Mackay on Wednesday, 25 July 2018.

About the Awards
The Bowen Basin Mining Club, in partnership with the Queensland Resources Council, is proud to host the Queensland mining industry's premier awards event, the 2018 Queensland Mining Awards. The Awards have been designed to celebrate the spirit of innovation, excellence and collaboration being fostered within this highly competitive industry. All companies involved in Queensland's minerals and energy resources sector, from mining companies right through to contractors and suppliers, are invited to enter the Awards and gain recognition for their hard work.
A panel of six mining industry leaders have been selected as the peer judges for the 2018 Queensland Mining Awards.
The judges, with expertise in management and operations ranging from coal to minerals, gas and procurement, will assess all entries across the eight categories.
