Seventeen SMEs with proven solutions for the mining and energy sectors will take part in the RISE scale-up Accelerator Program kicking off in Brisbane and Perth today.
The 12-week intensive has attracted a mix of regional and metropolitan-based companies with priority given to Australian companies based in Queensland or Western Australia with products or services delivered or emanating from these regions.
METS Ignited Acting CEO Dr Ian Dover said it is a credit to regional Australia we are seeing equal participation from regional and metropolitan companies with an increasing focus on digital solutions, their commercialisation will accelerate jobs and growth in domestic and international markets.
Hon Karen Andrews MP, Minister for Industry, Science and Technology, said the accelerator would boost the commercialisation of innovation in the Industry Growth Centre's priority sectors.
"This program will equip scale-ups with the skills, capabilities and support to develop their innovation, win more work, and grow their businesses.
"Through programs like RISE, we can strengthen Australia's position as a global hub for innovation in the mining and energy resources sectors and enhance the competitive advantage of Australian industry."
