The State of Play -- the world's most comprehensive source of knowledge on strategic innovation in the mining industry -- is looking for input from Australian METS companies.
Since its inception in 2012, State of Play has enabled industry to uncover the impact of the changing global market and its effect on innovation.
The information is compiled through surveys; the 2016 survey was the largest of its kind in the global mining industry, receiving over 800 repondents.
The 2018 survey will take 10-15 minutes to complete: https://stateofplay.org/survey-2018
Did you know?
The 2016 State of Play report found companies with an innovation timeframe of 5-10 years have a better share price performance over a 5 year period than any other timeframe? This is despite an ever decreasing number of mining companies identifying themselves as having a true, long-term innovation vision.
Other insights include:
- Innovation in exploration has tripled in the past two years.
- 70% of miners believe that renewable energy will fundamentally disrupt their industry.
- Companies that do not incentivise innovation have significantly poorer innovation outcomes.
- The number of miners that believe that transparency and regulation will shift their strategy has more than doubled in two years.
