To take advantage of global opportunities, Australian METS need to be entrenched in the mining innovation ecosystem by engaging and collaborating with the mining supply chain.
We are engaging with METS to identify industry priorities and address gaps to overcome access to supply chains as part of our work to develop the 10-year Sector Competitiveness Plan for the METS sector.
A number of key, national and regional bodies help facilitate opportunities and access to mining companies and customers through networking events, trade exhibitions, information sessions, business missions, and programs:
- Austrade - Australia’s international trade and development organisation helps Australian companies grow their business in international markets and export potential, and also helps to attract and facilitate productive foreign direct investment into Australia.
- Austmine - the leading industry body for Australian METS which promotes its members’ expertise and capabilities, connects with the global mining community, drives exports and champions innovation.
- AusIndustry - helps businesses to get access to relevant assistance programmes as well as provide expert advice and information across its 20 offices nationwide.
- MESCA - a national industry body to assist members in developing and enhancing partnerships while maximising opportunities for contributions to mining and energy projects.
Australia's State,Territory and local industry and trade development organisations also play an active role.
This is by no means an exhaustive list and we will continue to build networks.
