Our recent engagement with the mining innovation sector has identified a number of areas the industry needs to address to become globally competitive.
One of those gaps is the lack of pilot facilities for researchers and Australia's METS companies to trial and prove their products. Over the coming months, we will scope a number of "living labs", such as physical or virtual pilot mine sites. These will provide opportunities for researchers and METS companies to showcase your capabilities and innovations to demonstrate to miners the value-add that METS and researchers offer and the impact your innovation can have on their bottom line, without having to take on the risk of piloting in a production setting.
The Australian Government's Cooperative Research Centres (CRC) Programme supports industry-led collaborations between industry, researchers and the community. CRC- P projects aligned to Industry Growth Centres will be prioritied.
Details of the CRC selection rounds are available here.
We will also be mapping the research capability and encourage the research to engage with us to establish this map.
