METStech Passport is the first of its kind between Australia and Chile, sending three Australian METS companies to Chile, and three Chilean METS companies to Australia to take part in a two-week mining innovation ecosystem immersion.
The passport initiative is an exchange program to help Australian and Chilean scale-up companies to obtain direct exposure to the mining industry and commercialise their products and services.
Austrade and METS Ignited are running the program, in partnership with Expande, a public-private organisation as part of Fundacion Chile to give mining suppliers international exposure, cross-pollinate ideas and facilitate international expansion.
How does the program work?
Following a short-form submission, innovation pitch, and interview, three solution-focused METS companies (in Australia and Chile) solving challenges in select mining areas have been chosen.
The winners from each country will have access to mentorship, investors, potential clients, networks for global expansion, attendance at IMARC 2018 and the opportunity to transition into new markets.
Companies receive flights and accommodation for the immersion program, which includes meeting with potential investors during their international visit.
