(IMARC: MELB) METS Ignited is seeking to co-invest in innovative ideas to improve the productivity, competitiveness and innovative capacity of the Australian METS sector and address gaps in the mining innovation ecosystem.
METS Ignited has launched an industry-wide Expression of Interest (EOI) process to access matched-funding for METS Ignited Project Funds to encourage industry to collaborate on projects which target key opportunities aligned to the METS Sector Competitiveness Plan (SCP), or to establish METS Living Lab nodes/sandpits.
METS Ignited is looking for dollar-for-dollar matched investment for collaborative, industry-led projects with clear commercialisation applications and which address at least one of the key themes in the SCP:
- reducing regulatory burden
- increasing collaboration and commercialisation
- improving access to global supply chains
- enhancing management and workforce skills.
Approximately $3.6 million of funding will be available under METS Ignited Project Funds in 2016/17, with this EOI process being the first of three rounds.
Successful projects will be announced in Q1 of 2017. Future rounds will be announced in 2017.
In this pilot round, METS Ignited is seeking projects which address the METS 10 Year Sector Competitiveness Plan launched earlier this week at IMARC.
Applications will be assessed against the METS Ignited Project Funds Programme Guidelines, as well as alignment to key areas of the SCP.
Applications for the first (pilot) EOI round for Project Funds close on 23 December 2016.
